Peanut Butter Protein Donuts

These Peanut Butter Protein Donuts are some of my all time favorite desserts! They are a healthy and delicious treat, that doesn't leave you feeling guilty after! It's a win win! Protein Donuts are such a fun way to satisfy the sweet tooth, without breaking all of your dieting rules. They are macro friendly too! Make it with me!

These Peanut Butter flavored Protein Donuts may be my new favorite flavor! I also have Cake Batter Protein Donuts and Chocolate Chocolate Protein Donuts up on the blog as well! Try all three and let me know which one you like best!

The thing that makes this recipe the best is cooking it in a donut pan! When I first started developing these recipes, I only used a cupcake tin. They still tasted like donuts, but they didn't look like donuts, and that was no fun! I finally caved and ordered myself a donut pan and I am so glad that I did! It is so much more fun eating a donut that looks like one! I got mine on Amazon! You can order yourself some donut pans using the link below!

3/4 cup whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons PB2 powder
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 whole egg
1/4 cup sugar free maple syrup
1/4 cup almond milk
3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Glaze
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1 tablespoon coconut oil

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix together flour, protein powder, PB2, baking soda, and salt.

Next, add in the egg, syrup, almond milk, peanut butter, applesauce, and vanilla. Gently fold together until batter is formed. Batter will be thick.

Spoon batter into a piping or ziplock bag and remove about a 1/2 inch from the tip. Prepare donut pan with non stick spray. Pip donut batter into donut pans.

Bake for 10 minutes.

Heat chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave until melted and smooth. Once donuts are cooled, dip each donut into the chocolate glaze. Set in fridge for 5-10 minutes for chocolate to set.
