Valentines Day Cereal Treats

Valentines Day is Here! I want to make sure everybody is prepared! Whether you are throwing a valentines day party for your friends, you kids, a galentines day party, or you just want to treat yourself to a special treat, I have the answer for you! Everybody loves the classic recipe "Muddie Buddies" which are chex cereal treats, peanut butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar. Well, I have thrown a fruity twist on this classic favorite that creates a great flavor and a pretty pink and white color. It is the same basic concept, chex mix, white chocolate, and powdered sugar, with also strawberry cake mix and food coloring. The candies we chose to add were the tiny chocolate balls wrapped in red, sour gummy balls, and red candy hearts. You can also use m&m's, gummy hearts, gummy bears, conversation hearts, or really what every you like best! This recipe is so sweet and yummy, your friends will love it!

Valentines Day Cereal Treats Recipe
8 cups chex mix (1/2 regular, 1/2 vanilla flavored)
2 cups white chocolate
2 teaspoons coconut oil
1 box strawberry flavored cake mix
2 cups confectioners sugar
2 drops red food coloring
2 cups favorite seasonal small candies (gummies, chocolates, hearts, sours)

Start by mixing the two flavors of cereal together, then separating evenly into 2 large bowl. Working with one flavor at a time, melt down 1 cup white chocolate with 1 teaspoon coconut oil in 30 second increments in the microwave. When smooth, pour over 1/2 cereal pieces. Mix well, coating well. Next, in a gallon sized ziplock bag, add confectioners sugar. Add the coated cereal pieces, seal, and shake well. When finished, spread out on cookie sheet to let dry.

Next, repeat what you did before, melting down the chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave. Now, add a few drops of red food coloring. Then, add 1 box strawberry cake mix to a gallon sized zip lock bag. Add the coating cereal treats and shake well. Pour out on another cookie sheet to allow to dry. When dry, combine the two flavors of cereal treats in a large bowl. Add favorite candies, gummies, chocolate bites, hearts, or sours to add bright valentines day colors. Mix well and serve!

  1. These are fantastic Valentine’s Day Cereal Treats! I am in love with these and just can’t wait for eating such yummy desserts. Anyways, at some local San Francisco venues I will host NYE party and there will be a large dessert bar as well. I am sure it will turn out to be an enjoyable night.
